Our Youth Development Programs in Cameroon

At HOCI Cameroon, we believe that empowering the next generation requires more than just good intentions — it demands targeted programs that equip young people with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to thrive. As a youth-centered NGO, our programs focus on life skills development, child advocacy, sponsorship, and sports-based education to ensure a brighter future for every young person we reach.

Our initiatives are designed to respond to the real challenges youth face in communities across Cameroon — from poverty and abuse, to poor health and limited access to education.

Our Main Programs

Life Skills Training

Our Life Skills Training program develops the essential abilities for adaptive and positive behavior, helping youth deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. We equip them with communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, emotional regulation, and decision-making skills to become more resilient and goal-oriented.

Children’s Advocacy

This program promotes and delivers excellence in child abuse prevention and response through education, community engagement, and leadership. At HOCI, we recognize that protecting children starts with strengthening families and educating communities.

We offer services and workshops to parents, children, schools, and organizations across Cameroon to build safer environments and raise awareness about child protection.

Child Support & Sponsorship Program

Our child sponsorship model goes beyond financial aid — it creates lasting change. We adopt a community-empowering approach that helps children and families overcome poverty by addressing root causes, enhancing access to education, and nurturing long-term emotional and social well-being.

Through this program, we empower children to dream big and achieve more — with the support of committed sponsors and a strong community behind them.

Community Projects

Our on-the-ground youth development projects are tailored to local needs and focus on key health and behavioral challenges:

  • Golden Age of School Hygiene

  • Better Life Options: Choosing the Future

  • Youths and Sports for Development

  • Community-Based Development Programs

  • Sexual Behavior Education in Boyo Division

  • HIV/AIDS Awareness for Adolescents in Njinikom

These projects tackle issues like STIs and HIV prevention, adolescent pregnancy, and school hygiene, while promoting leadership, responsibility, and informed decision-making.

Sports for Development

Our programs use sports not just as play — but as a platform for purpose. Through organized team activities, HOCI encourages players to connect their personal discipline and talents to a larger mission — one that includes supporting their families, building their communities, honoring their country, and growing in faith.

Sports activities create safe spaces for youth to learn, express, lead, and grow physically and emotionally.
