About HOCI Cameroon
Hope for Children International (HOCI) is a youth-centered, community-based NGO in Cameroon dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people through holistic, community-driven solutions. With a firm belief that empowered youth are the foundation of sustainable development, HOCI focuses on equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to grow into responsible adults and active community builders.
Officially registered as a nonprofit organization in Cameroon since December 20, 2014 (Reg. No: 09.G.3/14/1/vol.8/119/OAPP), HOCI has become a trusted voice and force in the fields of youth empowerment, HIV prevention, life skills training, and sports for development.
Operating at the grassroots level, our programs are designed to address critical issues facing young people in both urban and underserved communities. These include the fight against HIV/AIDS, drug and alcohol abuse, youth unemployment, school dropout, and the lack of safe recreational spaces. Through sports-based education, mentorship, and awareness campaigns, we engage youth in meaningful activities that build self-esteem, leadership, discipline, and teamwork.
HOCI’s unique approach blends sports and social impact—using games, team-building activities, and organized sports events to deliver powerful messages about health, self-respect, and civic responsibility. We work closely with families, schools, churches, and local authorities to ensure that our efforts are rooted in real community needs and cultural relevance.
Since its founding, HOCI has reached thousands of children, adolescents, and young adults in Cameroon—especially in cities like Douala and Yaoundé—offering them opportunities to participate in workshops, tournaments, life skills training, and community service. Many of our beneficiaries have gone on to become youth leaders, coaches, peer educators, and advocates for change in their own communities.
As a community-based NGO in Cameroon, we are committed to building a future where every young person is empowered to live with purpose, contribute to society, and become an agent of positive change.

Our Mission
Our Vision
A world where every child and youth has the opportunity to grow into a responsible adult, equipped to lead, serve, and build thriving communities.
What We Do
HOCI leverages the power of sports for development to:
-
Educate youth on health topics such as HIV prevention and drug abuse
-
Inspire leadership, self-discipline, and teamwork
-
Mobilize communities to address unemployment, poverty, and social injustice
-
Unlock talents and provide mentorship for long-term impact
Through our targeted programs, workshops, and sports events, we aim to build a generation of youth leaders in Cameroon who will carry forward the torch of change across the country and beyond.
Why Our Work Matters
As a registered NGO in Cameroon, HOCI responds to urgent community challenges — from HIV awareness and substance abuse prevention, to education and youth unemployment. We believe that empowering young people is the key to building a stronger, healthier, and more united future.
