About HOCI Cameroon
-
Hope for Children International (HOCI) is a youth-centered, community-based development NGO officially recognized in Cameroon since December 20, 2014 (Reg. No: 09.G.3/14/1/vol.8/119/OAPP).
We use the power of sports, education, and mentorship to inspire and mobilize young people and communities. Our programs aim to stop the spread of HIV, reduce alcohol and drug use, combat youth unemployment, and awaken hidden talents, ensuring a smooth and successful transition into responsible adulthood.

Why Our Work Matters

Our approach goes beyond the field. Sports activities are designed to connect young players to their personal purpose, teamwork, and self-discipline — encouraging them to serve not only their teams but also their families, communities, country, and even God.

Hope for Children International (HOCI) Advocates for Peace In Cameroon
Hope for Children International (HOCI) Cameroon has consistently advocated for peace in the country, viewing it as essential for development and youth empowerment. The organization believes that peace and security are natural outcomes of addressing root issues like unemployment and lack of opportunity, which are the primary focus of their work.
While many different organizations, including other NGOs, the Cameroonian Human Rights Commission, religious leaders, and political movements, have made explicit calls for a return to peace, dialogue, and an end to the ongoing Anglophone crisis, HOCI’s specific approach is that their programs themselves are a pathway to peace. By fostering self-discipline, teamwork, life skills, and reducing social problems, they aim to create a stable environment where peace can install itself naturally, rather than issuing explicit political “calls” in the traditional sense. Their website specifically links community development efforts directly to peace and security outcomes.

Our Mission
At HOCI Cameroon, everything we do begins with purpose. As a youth-centered NGO in Cameroon, our mission drives our programs, partnerships, and passion.
